Introduction

Fort 52 consists of two Dutch-period villas that come together to create a peaceful holiday retreat that can be booked by the room or as a whole villa.

Enter from bustling Lighthouse Street and step into an oasis of calm where old world architecture is blended with contemporary design. Pass through the reception and living room on to a broad verandah that skirts around the property. The central focus is a large garden which is an utter luxury within Galle Fort. Tall 22 ft antique temple columns reach up from the ground floor to the second-floor terrace and the clay-tiled roof, creating outdoor living spaces that are cool and airy. Three of the bedrooms are located on the upper floor while two more bedrooms are housed in a separate smaller villa at the edge of the gardens. The stylish interiors are decorated with modern art, plush sofas, king-size four-poster beds and equipped with all modern day conveniences. After an interesting day of exploring Galle Fort, enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on the verandah at Pedlar Street and watch as life unfolds. 52 can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests and welcomes families with children. A minimum two night’s stay is required. 52 is the sister property of Villa Mawella – a beach villa fronting the turquoise seas of Tangalle in the deep south.
